While we wait on the mercury to drop below 80, now is a great time to plan for the fall season. With summer almost in the rear-view mirror, we can start bringing lighter-weight fall pieces to the front of our closet and begin tucking away things like linen and eyelet.

Fall 2025 Top Color Trends
First, let’s discuss color. The biggest color trend of the season is the explosion of chocolate brown. This is no surprise given the Pantone color of the year for 2025 is mocha mousse. Brown is easier on the eyes than black, it is more approachable, and it pairs successfully with more colors than black. If you love black, bring in a bit of brown and wear those pieces together.

Lime Green
Another big color trend this season is lime green. You are going to see this trend on many items this season from sweaters to bags. My advice is to do this color in a print (where it isn’t the only color) or in a small item like a bag where it is not directly by your face. The reason: this is a difficult color to wear successfully. Most complexions struggle to pull it off. If you want to know which greens are your best ones, let’s do your color analysis. Email me to discuss.

Poppy Red
Poppy red is once again a big color story this season. Just like with lime green, this color is hard to successfully wear since it’s so bright. I recommend strips of the color like in the garments here or do one of the biggest fall trends: a red shoe.

Earthy Brown with Color Pops
The main color story for fall 2025 is earthy tones with bright pops. Many colors pair well with chocolate brown, so it’s no surprise we saw poppy red, lime green and lemon trending. Next to poppy red, we are seeing a lot of purple and pale pink. Besides chocolate brown, for neutrals we are seeing quite a few bronzy tones, deep blue, light gray, and deep wine. It’s always a good idea to know your best colors before investing in new colors for the season. Email me to learn more about custom color analysis. Fall 2025 Top Fashion Trends
What we are seeing overall this season is a return to an everyday, wearable wardrobe that expresses an effortless sophistication. It’s classic but not boring. Some of the top trends are shown in this collage. You likely have quite a few of fall’s trends in your closet.

Fall Top 10 Fashion Trends
For those who love a list (raising my hand), here’s a Top 10 run-down of fall fashion trends:
- Fur and faux fur (I recommend faux)
- Red shoes
- Higher necklines (lots of funnel necklines on jackets)
- Belts (do this if you have a defined waist or need to cinch a shapeless garment)
- Loafers (great with jeans and trousers)
- Vests (wear over a t-shirt for casual or a blouse for dressier)
- Fringe (a little bit goes a long way; try a clutch or a bag with a tassel)
- Cardigans (wear open over the tee or top of your choice)
- Check/Plaid (anything goes; I love a blazer or trousers)
- Animal print (not new, always fun)
Runway Inspiration
Although the fashion runway is always exponentially more dramatic than real life, I always enjoy the photos. I created a Pinterest board here to show you the runway trends.
Shop Your Closet First
Per usual, my advice is to take your time and be very thoughtful about what you add to your wardrobe this season. Most of the time, a few new things are enough to energize your entire wardrobe, making it feel fresh and modern.
Do not purchase anything until you switch your closest from summer to fall. Otherwise, you may discover you didn’t need the new pieces you just bought. Always shop your closet first. Need help with the seasonal switch? Email me. Now is a great time to do it.
